Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: the Reimagining Politics Magazine subscriber chat. I won’t pepper you with incessant chat requests, but I do want your ideas, reactions and suggestions as you have time. The first chat I’ve started is about eggs and the great egg shortage of 2022-’23.
Reimagining Politics Chat is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.
As you know, I’m trying to go beyond the crisis du jour in my Substack magazine, but I’d like to know what the hell is going on with eggs? What do you think?
I’m in México City, and all of the stores are full of cheap eggs. My friend Fernanda and I went shopping tonight and bought 30 farm fresh eggs for about $4.25. (See photo above.)
We are living in an age of permanent crisis, often manufactured, but the great egg shortage of 2022-‘23 seems like an instructive case study.
I welcome your thoughts, and please feel free to weigh in on my other articles, the overall direction of the Magazine and any other comments and suggestions you would like to share.
To join our egg chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
Thank you. I look forward to your comments and suggestions.
